Candace Payne bought the mask of the Star Wars character at a discount while making some clothing returns at a supermarket in Texas and posted a video of her enjoying her new purchase on Facebook.
Her video has now been viewed more than 125 million times, becoming the most-watched Facebook Live video - ever.
Mrs Payne said on Facebook: "Today has been a whirlwind. I'm grateful for every kind word and comment even if I haven't replied. Y'all.
"OVERWHELMED with gratitude. Let's keep belly laughing again and again. Never imagined finding my "simple joy" would land me more VIEWS on a little FB video than Mark Zuckerberg has followers. INSANE.

Mrs Payne, who plays the guitar and has led worship at her church for many years, has said in interviews that her inner joy comes from her faith and not from a toy mask.
Kohl's, the supermarket where Candace bought the Star Wars mask, has now given all of the Payne family Chewbacca masks as well as other toys.
