Shane Harper and David A.R. White are returning for the third movie, 'God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness', which is being made by the independent film studio, Pure Flix.
Founding partner, Michael Scott said: "Audiences have continued to show support and interest in the God's Not Dead films and their relatable characters who endure similar challenges in their personal faith and lives.
"Our hope is that these films offer entertainment and encouragement, with a starting point for sharing faith in a respectable and compassionate manner."
Filmed in Little Rock, Arkansas, 'God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness' also stars My Big Fat Greek Wedding actor John Corbett.
It tells the story of Pastor Dave (David A.R. White) whose church burns down on the grounds of a university and campus bosses refuse him permission to rebuild.
Pastor Dave enlists the legal expertise of his estranged brother Pearce (John Corbett), an attorney and atheist, in overcoming the legal wranglings.
The original God's Not Dead movie became the highest-grossing independent film of 2014, grossing more than $60 million at the box office.
