Carol Wimber-Wong, wife of the late John Wimber and co-founder of the influential Vineyard movement, has passed away at the age of 87.

She died peacefully on 3rd January 2025 and was remembered for her profound impact on lives through her leadership, wisdom, and devotion to the work of the Holy Spirit.

Carol and John were instrumental in the creation and growth of the Vineyard movement, which has had a lasting influence on charismatic Christian communities around the world.

While John was often in the public eye, Carol preferred to serve behind the scenes.

John and Debby Wright, National Directors of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland, shared their grief and admiration for Carol in a heartfelt tribute.

"Carol had a deep love for Jesus and was passionate about the person and work of the Holy Spirit, unswerving in her commitment to following His lead," they said.

"She did not enjoy visibility but had a huge influence in shaping the Vineyard movement with her late husband, and anyone who spent time with her was deeply enriched by her wisdom and perspective."

Carol's legacy goes beyond her pivotal role in the Vineyard movement.

“Her contribution to the Body of Christ has been incalculable,” said John and Debby. “History will remember her warmly."

As tributes pour in from across the globe, Carol's family and the Vineyard family mourn her loss while also celebrating a life well-lived in service to the Lord.
