Vice President Mike Pence to speak at Ravi Zacharias' memorial service

by Premier Journalist

It has been announced that the Vice President of the United States Mike Pence will deliver remarks at today's memorial service for the late apologist, Ravi Zacharias.

The service is set to take place at Passion City Church in Atlanta and will feature homages from family and friends, including RZIM President Michael Ramsden, athlete and author Tim Tebow, Brooklyn Tabernacle Senior Pastor Jim Cymbala, and Passion Movement Founder Louie Giglio.

Following news of Ravi's death on 19th May, Pence, who has been a long-time friend of Zacharias, tweeted:

“Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ravi Zacharias, a Christian apologist whose ministry for the gospel of Jesus Christ impacted millions around the world. Ravi was a man of faith who could ‘rightly handle the word of truth’ like few others in our time & he was my friend.”

The Vice President, who is an outspoken Christian, personally visited the Zacharias family on 2nd May to offer his condolences. In 2014, Ravi was invited to speak at the Indiana Leadership Prayer Breakfast in 2014 at the request of the Pence, who was governor at the time.

The memorial service will be live-streamed on RZIM's YouTube and Facebook pages. It begins at 4pm BST.

A private memorial was taken by Sam Allberry on 21st May
