The pastor of Vous Church in Miami, Rich Wilkerson Jr., has taken to social media to ask for prayers for his newborn daughter.

Waylon Wesley Wilkerson was born on July 2nd but was admitted to the newborn intensive care unit after having "trouble breathing".

"This is my daughter. Never knew a love like this," Pastor Wilkerson said on an Instagram post on 3rd July.

"Keep praying for Waylon, she was admitted into the NICU due to trouble breathing. We are fully confident she's fine but praying for her breathing and for her stay in NICU to be brief. Grateful for the incredible care she's receiving!”

The 37-year-old dad, who shot to popularity after he conducted the wedding of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in 2014, said the experience is "straightening his faith".

In his latest post, Pastor Wilkerson said Waylon had been taken off her feeding tube and no longer needed oxygen to help her breath.

"Day 5 in NICU with MY GIRL. Believing that Waylon is going home tomorrow. Would love your prayers ?? #girldad," the post read.

Wilkerson’s Miami-based congregation grew out a youth ministry led by him at Trinity Church which developed into a church on its own.

Pastor Wilkinson's wife, DawnChere, also took to social media to share updates about their baby as well as posting a video of the birth.

"Welcome to the family, Waylon. Thankful for today. Got to hold my girl. Her eyes light up my world. She's strong and we're grateful! Waylon Wesley, we love you!," she captioned the video.

The Wilkersons have previously shared that they battled with infertility for a decade before getting pregnant with Wyatt, born in 2018, and Wilde, born in 2019.
