Two men from Bradford are set to run a gruelling 133 miles, over six days, to help raise funds for a 2.4 million pound church project.
Sunbridge Road Mission Church in Bradford will turn 133 on 26th June and says it’s desperately in need of a new building to reach all communities in Bradford.
Mike Farrell and James Oxford, both of Apperley Bridge, will start their run on 20th June running an average of 22 miles per day,
Farrell told Premier: “It is really inspiring, the work that Sunbridge has done over 133 years.
“We just need some space to worship that's fit for the 21st century so we can continue to transform lives and support people in around the Inner City of Bradford, who are displaced in the poorest of society, and Sunbridge offers them some hope.
“We have the opportunity to share God's Word with all of them and it will inspire me to take every step.
“I know how the church has had an impact on my life and how it transformed my life as one person.
"So if I can transform one person's life during that journey next week, that is that for me is as much about transforming lives as it is about raising money.”
Farrell said they have managed to raise so far £3,500 but are praying that a donor will come along and give a generous amount, so that the project can get underway.
