Comedian Joy Behar attacked Mike Pence's faith on 'The View' after a clip was played with former White House adviser Omarosa Manigault Newman claiming on a reality programme that "Jesus tells him to say things".
Behar said: "It's one thing to talk to Jesus. It's another thing when Jesus talks to you.
"That's called mental illness...if I'm not correct, he's hearing voices."
Fellow host Sherri Shepherd also shared her concerns and said: "As a Christian... you talk to Jesus, Jesus talks to you. What concerns me is how long is the conversation."
Co-host Sunny Hostin who is a Catholic, added: "I'm a faithful person but I don't know if I want my Vice President speaking in tongues.
"I think when you have a Mike Pence who now sort of puts this religious veneer on things and calls people 'values voters,' I think we're in a dangerous situation."
