A representative has revealed the cause of TobyMac’s son's death last October.
According to a statement to People Magazine, a representative of the US Christian rapper said Truett Foster McKeehan, 21, “died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl and amphetamines”.
Earlier this month TobyMac released a new song which reveals all the emotions he’s had while dealing with the death of his son.
Announcing the release of ‘21 Years’, TobyMac said in a social media post that writing the song has helped him process the hardest time he’s ever faced.
He said his son was an aspiring rapper and joined him on several tracks.
TobyMac and his wife launched a foundation in honour of Truett. The Truett Foster Foundation will raise money to help young people pursue education in music.
