Players from Brazilian football team Flamengo have praised God after winning the Copa Libertadores.
Flamengo defeated Palmeiras 1-0 to claim the highest honour in South American club football.
Leo Pereira pointed heavenwards in a photo with the trophy on Instagram, captioned “TO GOD BE THE GLORY.”
Looking to future success with the team, the central defender posted another photo captioned “All in God’s time.”
Striker Pedro Guilherme posted: "Glory to Jesus for another Libertadores title! Speechless for all the Lord has done in my life. All honour and glory are His!"
Emerson Royal shared a picture of his family with the trophy, sharing with his followers: “God is God. I am a Libertadores Champion!”
The former Tottenham Hotspur player later posted a picture of his open Bible on Instagram stories, with the text: “Thank you, God, for the things only we know.”
Assistant manager Rodrigo Caio expressed his gratitude to Jesus "for providing moments like this alongside my family and this club that I love and respect so much".
Caio has now won the trophy as a player and a coach, with Flamengo being crowned champions for the fourth time.
