As the UK's hit show returns to screens on New Year's Day, a previous winner has opened up about his faith.
The Traitors' Harry Clark has said his Christian faith became central to his life after winning the programme.
Clark won series two in early 2024, quickly moving from being an army engineer in Slough to gaining national recognition. Amid public attention, he said the Christian faith of his upbringing continued to keep him grounded.
Speaking to Premier Christianity Magazine, Clark described God as being "the answer” during a period of struggle with doubt and trauma.
Clark revealed that his faith was shaped in childhood when his sister underwent heart surgery, recalling how his mother leaned on God during that time and demonstrated how faith sustained people through fear and uncertainty.
Raised in a close-knit Roman Catholic family, Clark grew up attending Our Lady of Peace church, where he and his siblings played instruments during services.
He said faith was always present in family life - something he explored in his book Staying Faithful, which was published by the Christian publisher, SPCK.
Clark said his own faith was later tested after joining the army at 16, which he described as the darkest time of his life. Exposure to suffering led him to question why God allowed death and illness. He said a return to prayer, encouraged by his mother, marked a turning point as he shifted from asking for help to giving thanks.
Now aged 24, Clark says faith has kept him “a normal guy” despite winning the show as a “traitor”, adding that he wore God “as my armour”.
He is not the only young British reality star to open up about faith - with Great British Bake Off winner Jasmine Mitchell telling Premier Christian News: “My faith has become stronger and stronger over the last year. Being under the high pressure [of TV] really pushed me to rely on Jesus, because there were a lot of situations where I just felt completely unequipped”.
"Faith is like a wave," Harry Clark told Premier. "Some days it might be weaker, other days it might be stronger. After The Traitors... it seemed to save me again – my relationships, my career, me as a person. Now it’s stronger than ever."
