T.D Jakes speaks out after health incident during sermon

by Lydia Davies

Pastor T.D. Jakes of The Potter’s House megachurch has shared his first statement since experiencing a health scare during his Sunday sermon.

The incident, which occurred as he was concluding his message, shocked the congregation and quickly went viral.

Jakes, in the middle of his sermon, suddenly paused, lowered his microphone, and began to shake, prompting immediate attention from those on stage.

In a Facebook post, Jakes reassured his followers that he received prompt medical care and is stable.

While the cause of the incident remains unspecified, he clarified that he did not suffer a stroke.

"I give thanks to the Lord that I did not have a stroke," Jakes said. "However, the event could've been fatal if it weren't for God's intervention."

The pastor expressed his gratitude for the quick response of medical professionals and the overwhelming support from his congregation.

More than 2,000 people commented on the church’s Facebook page, offering prayers and well-wishes for his recovery.

Jakes thanked both God and the medical team for their swift actions and said he is "forever humbled" by the love and support shown.

While he did not specify when he would return to the pulpit, Jakes acknowledged the importance of rest and reflection, trusting in God's continued guidance.
