Stephen Baldwin slams brother Alec's 'spirit of hate' for signing petition against pro-life bill

by Eno Adeogun

The so-called "heartbeat bill," which was passed by the state Senate last month, would ban abortions after a foetal heartbeat is detectable, usually somewhere between six and seven weeks into pregnancy.

The youngest Baldwin brother, and father of model Hailey Bieber, took to Twitter to share his views on his brother being amongst 49 celebrities that signed a letter sent to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp opposing the new law.

He tweeted: "Avoided tweets like this, long as I could..."

He added that love "ultimately wins" and "for so long I've sat back & trusted God as my own, family members have perpetrated the spirit of hate...through abortion, mockery & blindness".

His comment came after actress Alyssa Milano received online criticism for using scripture to defend her pro-choice stance and motive for signing the petition as well.

Celebrities including Amy Schumer, Rosie O'Donnell, Sean Penn, Mia Farrow and Ben Stiller have joined Milano and Alec Baldwin in sharing their condemnation of the pro-life bill.

The bill will head back to Georgia House of Representatives for a vote.
