Spring Harvest gets over one million views after taking festival online

by Cara Bentley

Christian festival Spring Harvest, has got over one million views after taking the annual Christian conference online in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Spring Harvest is a church family gathering which was due to take place in Minehead, Skegness and Harrogate in April but was cancelled in mid-March in light of government advice on public gatherings and social distancing.

The entire conference was live streamed, for free, so that people across the country could share the experience.

Gavin Calver, general director of the Evangelical Alliance and chair of Spring Harvest said: "Never has there been a more important time for us to gather together as a community to worship, learn, laugh and pray together.  Each year we welcome up to 35,000 attendees at our event across three venues- it is just incredible that we have seen so many tuned it to celebrate together over Easter week!"

Denise, a viewer of Spring Harvest online said: "We are so blessed that Spring Harvest Home happened. I'm repeating the celebration events until they are no longer on YouTube. Thank you so much!"

Organisers have ensured the talks and other content will stay online until the end of April so that key workers can still tune in around their working hours.
