The son of Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell, moved judges with his original worship song Hey Jesus during American Idol’s Hollywood Week.

Baylee Littrell, 21, shared that he wrote the song after losing his grandmother, saying: "She understood me like not many people do. My grandma passed away three years ago, almost…

"I questioned everything, and I had pushed away faith. I thought I would not find it again. This song kind of helped me find it.”

The lyrics included: “Hey Jesus, I broke my wings again, could you help me up one last time old friend...”.

“Baylee, you're so good,” Carrie Underwood told him. “Your heart and genuineness just coming through.” Lionel Richie added: “Boy, that’s great lyrics.”

His father, Brian Littrell, a professing Christian, said in 2006: “I want [my son] to have the best life that he can have. I want him to know God.”

Another Christian contestant this season, Canaan Hill, received a platinum ticket for his gospel performance. Afterward, he said, “To God be the glory.”
