Following a win for Christian campaigners, The Satanic Temple are looking to raise their own flag outside Boston City Hall. 

The City Hall previously rejected applications to fly the Christian flag outside the property, but the decision was overturned by the Supreme Court, who ruled that - as the local government doesn't usually deal with the flags - the emblem should be allowed to fly. 

However, following the win, The Satanic Temple are keen to use the loophole for their own benefit, and are applying to fly their pennant too. 

The organisation argues that this is a matter of religious liberty.

Taking to Twitter, the founder shared a photo of the application, showing their intention to fly their flag as part of "Satanic Appreciation Week" in July. 

According to the document, they wish to raise the flag on July 23, before lowering it six days later. 

"Religious Liberty is a bedrock principle in a democracy, and Religious Liberty is dependent upon government viewpoint neutrality," Lucien Greaves, cofounder of The Satanic Temple said in a statement. "When public officials are allowed to preference certain religious viewpoints over others, we do not have Religious Liberty, we have theocracy."
