A former Archbishop of Canterbury's accused the church of having an "appallingly violent attitude" towards homosexuals. Writing in the Cambridge student paper The Tab, Dr Rowan Williams has also described the church of "failing gay people".
Revd Sharon Ferguson is the Chief Executive of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement.
