The Christian lead vocalist of rock band 3 Doors Down has revealed he’s battling stage four kidney cancer and is asking for prayers.
Brad Arnold, 46, announced via Instagram this week that he has been diagnosed with stage four clear cell renal cell carcinoma which has spread to his lung.
In the video, Arnold said: "We serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything."
He continued: "So I have no fear. I'm really, sincerely not scared of it at all."
The diagnosis has forced the band to cancel its summer tour, which was due to start on 15th May in Daytona Beach, as reported by The Christian Post.
All tour dates have been pulled from their website and replaced with Arnold’s video message.
Arnold, known for hits like Kryptonite and Here Without You, has become increasingly open about his Christian faith, often sharing Bible verses and prayers online.
Despite 3 Doors Down not being a Christian band, he has described his relationship with God as central to his life, particularly in his journey out of alcohol addiction.
Arnold said: "I'd love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get."
Fellow musician Scott Stapp of Creed responded with encouragement: "If anyone has the FAITH and STRENGTH to face this fight, it's YOU brother.
"I think I can speak for all of us, we are lifting you up in prayer right now believing without doubt for your total healing!"
Arnold and his wife, Jennifer, were re-baptised together in 2023.
