BRIT Award-winning singer-songwriter RAYE has released the music video for her uplifting hit 'Joy', a song inspired by the Psalms and her Christian faith.

The 15th track of her latest album, This Music May Contain Hope, the song includes lyrics such as “I may cry in the night, but my joy comes in the morning,” inspired by Psalm 30:5, and “cover me with your feathers, Father, shelter me with your wings,” drawing from Psalm 91:4.

"I declare and I decree, any chain that has been holding me, any evil tongue that whispers in these ears...I rebuke you, you must leave my life, you are not welcome here," Raye sings. 

The track is a family collaboration, with RAYE’s sisters, Amma and Absolutely, each contributing a verse. All three sisters perform under stage names: Raye was born Rachel Keen, Amma’s real name is Lauren, and Absolutely is Abby-Lynn’s chosen persona.

The accompanying music video follows the sisters as they travel through London, handing out sunflowers to passersby in a bid to spread smiles and encouragement. 

"The message of the song is joy, so we really need to find some within us right now," RAYE tells her sisters at the start of the video, as they huddle together with arms around one another.  

Christian faith was at the heart of the Keen sisters' upbringing, with RAYE sharing with The Times in April that she looks “for answers in a Bible app, not cruising Instagram”.
