TB Joshua's words prompted comments on social media on Wednesday including "wrong prophecy" and "we will know them by their fruits. If he lied, it means he is no prophet of God", after it emerged Donald Trump had won the vote.
The Nigerian evangelist wrote on Facebook on Monday: "Ten days ago, I saw the new President of America with a narrow win.
"By the way, in order not to keep you in suspense, what I frankly saw is a woman."
The comments have since been deleted.

Following news on Wednesday Democrat Clinton lost against Republican Trump in the race to the White House, various social media users came to TB Joshua's defence.
One wrote, "He remains a great prophet. Only God knows why it happened like it," another said, "TB Joshua is human, he can make a mistake."
Elsewhere, someone pointed to Deuteronomy 18:22, part of it says: "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken."
Born in Ondo State in 1963, it is understood TB Joshua enjoys a strong following across Africa and he has advised presidents in Ghana, Malawi and Tanzania.
He is the general overseer of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations, which operates a big church building in the Nigerian capital, Lagos.
Nicknamed 'the prophet', TB Joshua also founded the television channel, Emmanuel TV.
