Prince William 'struggles' with the Church of England, says royal insider

by Premier Journalist

Prince William feels "embarrassed by certain aspects" of the Church of England, according to a royal insider.

While some speculated that William’s religious views might have shifted following Kate Middleton’s health scare, sources close to him insist there is "no change of course" in his beliefs. They say William’s "modern" outlook contrasts with his father’s strong commitment to faith.

Though the late Queen and King Charles III both showed deep dedication to Anglicanism and spirituality, insiders report that William does not share this interest.

Writing in the Mail on Sunday, royal expert Robert Hardman says  that William would not "feign an enthusiasm for something he does not feel personally." The insider describes him as "a modern young man" who feels uncomfortable with certain religious traditions.

William’s position, reportedly, is that he will "observe all his constitutional obligations to the Church of England" when the time comes.

In contrast, it has been reported that King Charles, as supreme governor of the Church of England, has turned to his faith and sought spiritual support from Greek Orthodox monk Archimandrite Ephraim following his cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment earlier this year.

Hardman adds that William is unlikely to "suddenly become a regular worshipper or feign an enthusiasm for something that he does not feel personally, however bleak the situation."

The royal insder also remarked that Princess Kate has shown a growing interest in "questions of faith" since her recent cancer scare, though she confirmed she was cancer-free in September.
