The Prince told the senior cleric the plate designs were based on flowers from his own garden.
Later in the day, the pair visited the Patriarchal Cathedral where a short performance was performed by a Byzantine choir.
Prince Charles lit a candle at the cathedral before leaving.
The Prince of Wales also visited Stavropoleos Church on Friday
The next stage of the tour will see Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla travel to Italy; where they are scheduled to meet Pope Francis before visiting Austria.
