A Catholic priest has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman on a flight in the United States.
Father Marcelo De Jesumaria, who is based in Arrowhead, California, has been found guilty of abusive sexual contact on the US Airways flight to Los Angeles last August, according to NBC Los Angeles.
He was convicted of sexually assaulting a sleeping woman during a cross-country flight from Philadelphia to LAX.
The FBI said that the female passenger woke up during the flight to find the priest touching her.
De Jesumaria was serving in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino, but was removed from ministry in November when allegations were made against him.
In a statement the Chicago-based Congregation of the Resurrection, of which he is a member, said it will determine his future in the priesthood.
