Pope Leo among Vanity Fair's best dressed people

by Anna Rees Green

The Pope has joined the likes of Harry Styles and actress Michaela Coel, having been named a style icon by Vanity Fair.

The fashion magazine has released its first annual list of best-dressed people, with Pope Leo winning a spot in ‘The Originals’ category.

“The most outlandish and innovative dressers keep things interesting and are full of surprises,” Vanity Fair declared.

The magazine praised the Pontiff taking his “modest cream cassock to heavenly heights” by pairing it with Nike trainers.

“Leo has kept his sense of wry casualness, sometimes sporting baseball caps,” the magazine added.

The Pope’s official garments are crafted by Italian designer Filippo Sorcinelli, who has designed vestments for the last three popes.
