Reverend and political activist, Jesse Jackson and his wife are currently in the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.
A statement from the Rainbow PUSH Coalition was released on Saturday, pronouncing that "Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr (79) and Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson (77) have both tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and are in Northwestern Hospital." The coalition reports that doctors currently monitor their conditions and that anyone around them should follow CDC guidelines and quarantine. "We are grateful for all of your prayers and get well-wishes," the coalition tweeted in response.

The Reverend has been an active progressive political activist for several decades. Jackson made a name for himself during the Civil Rights era. He was a close associate of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and has had a hand in several Democratic campaigns, even running twice himself.
The Reverend has been a vocal advocate for vaccinations, pushing to see other Black Americans get the vaccine. He has also made several appearances at racial justice and voting rights rallies. He was arrested earlier this month during his appearance at a Poor People's Campaign rally.
