A global 24 hour prayer meeting is being held on Good Friday for persecuted Christians.
The digital event organised by Save the Persecuted Christians (STPC) will see religious leaders from across the world hosting prayer sessions for those who suffer for their faith.
The international webcast is set to start at sunrise Jerusalem time on Holy Friday and to end at sunrise on Saturday.
It's estimated that some 260 million Christians across the globe face high to extreme levels of persecution for their faith, according to religious freedom charity Open Doors. This figure has increased by 6 per cent in the past year.
Those wishing to join the prayer initiative have been encouraged to focus on a nation from Open Doors' World Watch List - which ranks countries where Christians face the most severe treatment for their faith, and pray for God's intervention.
North Korea - which has approximately 300,000 Christians, is number one on the charity's list. If believers are discovered there they face being killed on the spot or deportation to labour camps. Meeting other Christians to worship is nearly impossible unless it's done in complete secrecy.
This is the second Good Friday initiative to be held, after hundreds joined in prayer globally last year.
