A New York pastor had agreed to give $50,000 to help rebuild an orphanage destroyed by local terrorists.

According to the Epoch Times, Fulani terrorists destroyed the Binta orphanage in the Jos area of Nigeria on Monday. The Fulani are a group of Muslim militants who are actively striving to "Islamize Nigeria."

In the case of the Binta orphanage, the terrorists damaged the main structure and made it impossible to use. A local watchman claims that "The Fulani got support from the Nigerian army. They were escorted by three army vans. We saw them from afar coming in numbers. The soldiers did not help us. They allowed Fulani to burn down our houses." Thankfully, the staff and children were not harmed and were able to escape. The Binta orphanage is the only orphanage in the area receiving funding from US non-profits.

The devastation of this attack inspired Bill Devlin, co-pastor of Infinity Bible Church, to publicly commit to donating $50,000 to the purpose of rebuilding said orphanage. "Thank God the 157 children were evacuated prior to the destruction by these demonic terrorists." wrote Devlin on his Facebook page. "Pastor Dr. Devlin has committed $50,000.USD to rebuild the orphanage."

Christian persecution watchdog Open Doors USA notes that the operators in Nigeria often "descend on the villages in the night or in the day and carry out cruel attacks against innocent people, including women and children." Open Doors also notes that local government forces are often taking lands from local Christian communities.

As of 2015, the Global Terrorism Index characterized the Fulani as one of the five deadliest terrorist organizations. However, their motives are solely localized, primarily the displacement of Christian farmers from their land.
