Megachurch pastor praises God as he leaves hospital after suffering a life-threatening pulmonary embolism

by Kelly Valencia

Megachurch US pastor John Gray has praised God after being discharged from hospital following a health scare.

“Because of God, this bed is now a testimony. As I wave goodbye to this bed, I say GOD THANK YOU FOR SAVING AND SPARING MY LIFE!,” Pastor John said in an Instagram post that included a picture of his hospital bed.

The leader of Relentless Church Atlanta had been in hospital since 7th July after it was discovered he had several blood clots and a pulmonary embolism, which could have ended his life.

“Yes, I have a long way to go, but I'm not dead – so that's a great start!," Pastor John continued.

His wife, Aventer Gray, had been posting periodic updates on her husband's health asking their combined two million followers to pray for his fast recovery.

Pastor John also used his Instagram post to thank all the medical professionals who treated him as well as the church campuses in Greenville, South Carolina, Powder Springs, and Georgia.

"I say thank you! It was GOD ALONE that turned the tide of this battle. I can't respond to every text I've received, and I still need a ton of rest, a lot of benchmarks to hit, outpatient follow-up visits, monitoring, and blah blah blah – but know I'm grateful for every expression; I am getting stronger," he wrote.

He concluded the post by thanking his wife.

“"I love you with all I have – and with all I have left. You and our children made me fight to stay here," he said.

"I love y'all, now since I can't shout. Can y'all help me shout? I'M OUTTTTT!" Pastor John added.
