A father-son pastor duo have made an appearance on the podcast of popular influencer Logan Paul.
Paul, 29, hosts the 'Impaulsive' podcast, which was ranked in the top 25 most popular podcasts in the world last year, as per listener metrics from US firm Edison Research.
Paul's guests for Episode 417 were Cliffe Knechtle, senior pastor of Grace Community Church in New Canaan, Connecticut, and his son, assistant pastor Stuart Knechtle.
The pair spent more than two-and-a-half hours answering questions from Paul on a range of subjects including evil and sin, heaven and hell, the meaning of the soul and the evidence for the Christian faith.
When being quizzed on the reasons to believe, Knechtle gave a detailed explanation of the key tenet of the Christian faith - the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Most importantly,” Knechtle explained, “three days after [Jesus] dies, he physically, bodily rises from the dead, and over a period of 40 days, he appears to over 500 people who see him different times, different places, risen from the dead.”
When Paul asked the pastor if people who don't believe in Jesus go to hell, the pastor responded by citing scripture:
“If I choose to reject Christ and live my life separate from him, I’m choosing to live my life separate from God,” he said, “based on my decision [I] will spend eternity separate from him.”
The discussion has garnered 2.3 million views on YouTube, with many expressing their encouragement in the comments section.
"The Gospel was preached, and it reached more people," one person wrote. "That's what matters to me in this podcast."
Another added: "Thanks Logan for being willing to have these conversations. Believer or not we need more people who are willing to sit at the table and be open to the conversation!"
