Life sentence for man who shot dead an Oklahoma pastor

by Alex Collett

A pastor's wife who ordered a man to kill her husband - an Oklahoma pastor - has been sentenced to life in prison.

Kahil Square, 27-years-old also from Oklahoma, killed David Evans from Ada last year.

He pleaded guilty to first degree murder. In the sentencing on Tuesday, Square expressed remorse for his actions.

In the hearing, Square told the Evan's family he was sorry. He said: "If you can’t forgive me today, I hope someday you will."

Mr Evan's wife, Kristie Evans, was sentenced to life in prison in August.

She pleaded guilty to murder in April and explained that her motive for asking Square to kill her husband was from a result of her suffering years of domestic abuse. Square's attorney says Kristie Evans was 'sinister and manipulative'.

Prior to her conviction, Kristie Evans claimed she was forced to have sex with other men whilst her husband watched.
