by Hannah Tooley

According to anti-persecution charity Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), Mohaned Mustafa was arrested and charged with Obstructing a Public servant from Performing the Duties of His Office.

He was arrested along with Pastor Hafez of the Khartoum Bhari Evangelical Church, which has been involved in a land dispute with the government.

Revd Yat Michael and Revd Peter Reith from South Sudan have been on trial in neighbouring Sudan charged with a number of offences.

The pastors have been charged jointly with acts of criminal conspiracy, undermining the constitutional system, espionage, disclosure and receipt of official information or documents, promoting hatred amongst sects, breach of public peace and offences relating to insulting religious beliefs.

It has been reported that their lawyer was arrested the day before a hearing when the men answered the judge's questions in court.
