Senior members of the Royal Family are expected to gather in Gloucestershire on Saturday for the wedding of Peter Phillips, the son of the Princess Royal.
The King's nephew will marry NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in a private ceremony at All Saints Church in Kemble, near Cirencester.
The King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Zara and Mike Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are among those expected to attend.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be present. It is unclear whether Prince Harry and Meghan were invited.
Phillips, 48, is the eldest grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and lives on the nearby Gatcombe Park estate. He shares two daughters, Savannah and Isla, with his former wife, Autumn, from whom he separated in 2020.
Sperling has spoken openly about the role faith has played in her life. Writing for a Premier's Woman Alive in 2024, she reflected on raising her daughter as a single mother after the breakdown of her marriage.
She has described how the end of a previous seven-year relationship prompted a return to church after a period when her faith had become “dormant”. Raised in a Christian family, with a father who served as a churchwarden and a mother involved in church ministry, she said religion had seemed less relevant during her younger years in London.
Speaking about her work as a children's intensive care nurse, Sperling said prayer remains part of her daily life. “I pray not only on Sunday, but all the time, often just quietly to myself,” she said, describing the profession as “quite stressful and emotionally engaging”.
The wedding comes on the same day as the Epsom Derby, with the King and Queen expected to travel to the racecourse after the ceremony to present the winner's trophy.
