Justin Bieber shocked fans on Easter by releasing a gospel EP.
The playlist entitled Freedom has six songs and features Christian music artists including Chandler Moore and Tori Kelly and others.
At the end of the song ‘We’re in this together’, Bieber prays over those listening.
He says: “I pray for every single person listening to this song right now. I pray for peace. I pray for joy. I pray for confidence. I pray for reassurance. I thank you so much for the person listening to this right now, I pray that You would bless them. Bless their mind, bless their finances. Bless their family, bless their sons, bless their daughters, bless their moms, bless their dads, bless their grandparents. God, I just pray for an overwhelming sense of Your presence in their home right now. An overwhelming sense of Your peace that says, ‘Everything is going to be all right’. In the name of Jesus.”
Bieber’s pastor and leader of Churchome Judah Smith also makes an appearance in two songs.
In the song ‘Where do I fit in”, Pastor Smith gives encouraging and soothing words from the perspective of God saying in part: “Your past is forgiven, it’ll be alright. Your future is secure, it’ll be alright. I forgive you, it’ll be alright. I’m your friend that’s closer than a brother, it’ll be alright. Sleep now for when the morning comes. My mercies will be new, it’ll be alright.”
In a 5-minute IGTV video posted on Bieber’s Instagram account on Monday, it was revealed he started the Freedom project on Thursday and had it completed by Easter Sunday.
When asked how it felt to release the EP in just three days, Bieber replied: “It feels so good. God is so good. He’s the greatest.”
The EP especially came as a surprise because it came just two weeks after the popstar released his sixth studio album called Justice.
