Bieber, who's often spoken of his Christian faith, revealed his new ink in an Instagram post.
He already has 50 tattoos including a cross on his chest.
The 22-year-old reportedly had the tiny mark done by renowned tattoo artist Jon Boy, who posted an image on his Instagram account.
He told told US Weekly: "It represents his journey in finding purpose with God."
In February 2016 he revealed that he prays every night before he goes to sleep, and when he's troubled or thankful.
He said: "Without God I wouldn't be in this position. He's blessed me with the talent and opportunity. And I feel like there's also a reason I'm here."
Justin Bieber's received mentoring in recent years from Carl Lentz of Hillsong Church in New York and Judah Smith of City Church in Seattle.
It was reported last year that Bieber had been baptised in the bath tub of basketball star Tyson Chandler.
His new tattoo has not gone down well with some fans. On Twitter one follower said it must be his "first and last" face marking.
