'I ain’t got to repent about this': Megachurch pastor TD Jakes dismisses sexual immorality claims

by Marcus Jones

Pastor of The Potter's House church, TD Jakes has used a sermon to dismiss what he's described as lies circling social media about him.

Several posts have emerged in recent weeks linking him to P Diddy, the rapper facing accusations of sexual assault.

The rumours suggest the church leader previously attended parties hosted by the singer.

Using his sermon on Christmas Eve, Pastor Jakes hit back saying: "All of you who expect me to address a lie, you can log off."

He then used his treatment by those on social media to unpack how Jesus deals with sin.

"The worst that could happen, if everything was true, all I got to do is repent sincerely, from my heart," he said. "There’s enough power in the blood to cover all kinds of sin. I don’t care what it is, the blood would fix it. But I ain’t got to repent about this.”

The rumours have been further dismissed by his ministry.

In a statement to the Christian Post, Jordan A. Hora, executive director of public relations and communications for the TD Jakes Group, TD Jakes Ministries and The Potter's House said: "Recent claims circulating on pockets of social media about Bishop T.D. Jakes are unequivocally false and baseless.

"What has always been true, in the words of the late Pastor Charles H. Spurgeon, 'If you want the truth to go round the world, you must hire an express train to pull it; but if you want a lie to go round the world it will fly; it is as light as a feather, and a breath will carry it.'"
