Hundreds of Christians have dropped to their knees in a minute's silence held in London's Parliament Square to pray for the tens of thousands of Iraqi Christian's who've been forced to flee their homes from Islamic militant group IS.
Many wore red to the vigil outside the Houses of Parliament, organised by 7:14 Prayer, to reflect the human cost of the atrocities carried out over the past two weeks.
Pioneer of Prayer 7:14 Pat Allerton said: "this is where the Church in meant to be, we're meant to be engaged with culture, we're meant to be a city on a hill; a light on its stand, just getting out there going public with the gospel".
The vigil took place as Iraq's caretaker Prime Minister agreed to leave the job.The United States had been calling for Nouri al-Maliki to go, so a new, more stable government could be set up in the country.
Meanwhile, the US President believes the situation in northern Iraq where it's been helping refugees fleeing Islamist extremists is 'improving'.
Mr Obama said: "most importantly we are urging Iraqis to come together to turn the tide against Isil, above all by seizing the enormous opportunity of forming a new inclusive government under the leadership of Prime Minister designate Abadi"
