'God has worked through your prayers': Tim Keller downshifts to less aggressive chemotherapy

Famed Christian author Tim Keller has taken to social media to give an update on his treatment for pancreatic cancer.

"By giving you an update, I want to honor God and the many who have so faithfully prayed for me during my treatment for pancreatic cancer that began last May, 2020," he wrote on Twitter.

Keller, 70, added that he has "downshifted to a less aggressive (and physically damaging) chemotherapy" and detailed what his latest scan had shown:

"Since May I have had three CT scans in August, November and last Monday, February 8. The first two scans each showed a significant decrease in size and number of tumors. The February scan also showed that in an area that had previously had numerous nodules there are now none visible."

It's Keller's second time fighting cancer after previously beating thyroid cancer.

"This is excellent news, so we are rejoicing that God has worked through your prayers and chemotherapy to accomplish so much. What the future holds I do not know, but we will continue to trust His plan and allow Him to shepherd us along his chosen path."

Last November, Keller credited the power of prayer also on Twitter, noting that his doctor was "surprised and delighted" by his progress.

"Thank you all so much for continuing to pray for me during my treatment for pancreatic cancer," he wrote at the time. "God has been very gracious in answering those prayers, and my most recent CT scans last Monday showed more improvement".

Keller said that the doctor went as far as to describe the improvement as "incredible.
