Training courses linked to Franklin Graham's UK tour have been postponed in response to government advice to cancel large public gatherings due to the coronavirus.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) announced it will be suspending all Christian Life and Witness training courses - which were set to run alongside Franklin Graham's upcoming UK tour to help believers deepen and share their faith, until at least 18th April.
A statement on BGEA's reads: "Our faith and trust is in the Lord but we are also called to be wise, so we are striving to protect the health of everyone who is involved in the tour. We will continuously check with UK health authorities for up-to-date information and guidelines."
"During these uncertain times, it is our prayer that we would all remain focused on loving God and loving our neighbors. As Franklin Graham said, "As a Christian I know if a person puts their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, He becomes our hope and our refuge, even in difficult times. He is 'the Way, the Truth, and the Life'."
The evangelist's upcoming UK preaching tour has faced a number of challenges prior to the coronavirus outbreak. All eight venues previously set to host his events pulled out following protests from LGBT campaigners. The organisation has filed legal claims against a number of the venues.
BGEA thanked supporters of the Graham Tour UK and encouraged Christians to focus on loving their neighbours "through these uncertain times".
