Franklin Graham to pray at Trump inauguration

He'll be joined by four other church leaders and a Rabbi at the service next month.

In a statement, Tom Barrack, the Presidential Inaugural Committee chairman, said: "I am pleased to announce that a diverse set of faith leaders will offer readings and prayers.

He added that the leaders "honour the vital role religious faith plays in our multicultural, vibrant nation."

Franklin Graham didn't go as far as endorsing Trump during the campaign but repeatedly defended him from criticism.

He later claimed the "God-factor" was behind Trump's win.

It won't be the first inauguration he's taken part in. Back in 2001, he prayed for George W Bush.

Graham will be joined on stage by New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan who had previously criticised Trump's comment's on immigration.

Others chosen include Rev Samuel Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, Pastor Paula White of New Destiny Christian Center and Bishop Wayne T Jackson of Great Faith Ministries International.

Meanwhile it's been suggested Donald Trump will write his own speech for the inauguration.

A Washington source has said he will draw inspiration from former US presidents Ronald Reagan and John F Kennedy.
