Evangelist Franklin Graham has met with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to pray for peace and an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Speaking at the European Congress on Evangelism, the 72-year-old preacher said he prayed with Zelensky for Putin and Trump, as prospects of a peace deal continue to come and go.

"I prayed...that God would give them wisdom, and a path forward for peace," Franklin said.

"The complications in Ukraine and Russia...these are very difficult. And I believe only God can solve this."

Franklin then encouraged everyone in attendance to pray for the situation.

Emma Fowle, Premier Christianity's Deputy Editor, was at the event and described the moment of prayer as "incredibly moving".

"Being in Berlin, with it’s own long history of conflict, seemed even more symbolic," she said.

"Later, we heard testimony from Dr David Karcha, a Ukrainian pastor and evangelist, who spoke of what God is doing in Ukraine even among the despair of war.

"He paid tribute to the churches both in Ukraine and across Europe who have been showing Christ’s love to those in desperate need.”

Also in attendance was Dr David Karcha, a Ukrainian minister and evangelist, who said that the Christian faith of many Ukranians has stayed strong despite the conflict.

"In the worlds eyes, Ukraine is a story of war. But in God’s eyes, it is a story of revival," he told Premier.

"He’s turning suffering into testimony, fear into faith and small acts of love into seeds for his kingdom.

"Even when rockets are exploding next to us, the foundations of our Christ stand firm. Let us not only defend our borders, but proclaim the gospel that knows no borders."
