Franklin Graham is calling on the Russian and Ukrainian President for a 10 day Holy Easter ceasefire

by Alex Collett

Franklin Graham, president of charity Samaritans Purse, which is providing aid in Ukraine, is calling for a temporary ceasefire to respect the 10 days of the Holy Easter observances.

In a tweet Mr.Graham has said he has written to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, asking for the ceasefire to start from Good Friday.

Mr Graham also said in the tweet that he is calling on churches around the globe to pray for peace during the 10 days of Holy Easter observances.

In further tweet Mr.Graham goes onto to explain further why he asked for these specific amount of days: “Someone asked why I asked for a ceasefire just for 10 days. If they can stop fighting for a week or 10 days, maybe they can stop fighting for 2 weeks.

“If they stop for 2 weeks, maybe they can stop for a month.

“If they stop for a month, maybe they can stop for good.

“I pray there will be an end to this crisis sooner—even today!

“But if not, maybe this could be a starting point.

“May we humbly unite before the King of kings & Lord of lords, asking Him to intervene & work in the hearts of the leaders involved to bring an end to the conflict.”
