Former vicar Jonathan Fletcher has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of indecent assault on a male person.
The offences allegedly took place between 1973 and 1999.
Fletcher, who was regarded as a leading conservative evangelical throughout his ministry, retired as minister of Emmanuel Church in 2012, having been in the post since 1982.
A trial date has been set for the end of June 2025.
An application to dismiss a further count of grievous bodily harm is due to be heard in January.
