Day of prayer for human trafficking victims

Catholics in England and Wales are being invited to pray for all victims of human trafficking on the Feast Day of St Bakhita. The Sudanese Saint was chosen because at the age of nine she was kidnapped and sold into slavery.

It's estimated there's nearly 21 million victims of forced labour, including forced sexual exploitation across the globe.

Results of a recent poll indicates that only a quarter of the UK public see human trafficking as a widespread problem.

Cecilia Taylor-Camara, Senior Policy Advisor for the Office for Migration Policy at the Catholic Church told Premier's News Hour people are still unaware this is happening today:

Without continued support, the ability to create and distribute resources that strengthen faith and equip the church will be compromised. But with your help, we can grow deeper, stand firmer, and shine brighter in the culture.

Your support today is critical.
