Martin Wrigley was given a "prohibition order" over inappropriate treatment towards the girl - known as 'Pupil A' - at Chatburn CofE School in Clitheroe.
A disciplinary hearing was told how the 48 year old also sent sexually explicit text messages to the youngster's mother.
It was claimed the alleged messages prompted Parent X's husband to warn Wrigley not to approach his family.
The National Council of Training and Leadership (NCTL), a body which deals with professional misconduct by teachers, heard how Wrigley treated Pupil A as a "teacher's pet", allowing the girl to collect spelling sheets and hand out books.
The body also ruled that Mr Wrigley had inappropriately texted another student, Pupil B.
The NCTL decided Mr Wrigley should not be allowed to apply to be reinstated for two years.
It concluded: "In his teaching, Mr Wrigley had a number of informal warnings about his behaviour in becoming overfamiliar with pupils, thereby undermining professional boundaries.
"In ignoring this advice, Mr Wrigley demonstrated a cavalier attitude by not taking it on board and acting upon it."
It decided the alleged sexually explicit messages sent to Pupil A's mother were not a matter for the school.
