A church has installed a large locked iron gate to prevent couples having sex in the church side entrance.
The vicar at St David's, Exeter, told The Mirror that it was a last resort after couples were engaging in sexual activity beside the church.
Revd Tom Honey said: "Installing the gates is a positive step for the church, it will protect the property, its staff, volunteers and visitors from the anti-social behaviour which the opening was being used for."
The Devon vicar said that these acts have been caught on CCTV at the side entrance of the church and a contributing towards anti-social behaviour in the area.
The money for the gates was provided as part of a restoration project at the church.
