Christians urged to pray for Nepal two years after earthquakes

Around nine thousand people were killed while eight million lives were effected by the tremors and the hardest hit areas are still struggling to cope.

Since 2015, over half a million people have benefitted from the interventions of Christian children's charity World Vision.

The organisation is still working in the country and says it now more than ever needs our prayers.

Speaking to Premier, Elizabeth Satow the national director of World Vision International Nepal said: "Next month Nepal plans to hold it's first local elections in 20 years.

"It's an historic event and it could bring great good to the country.

"What i'll ask for prayer for is that God will raise mena nd women who want to take up office to serve the people of Nepal and that leaders would emerge who have integrity, courage and the wisdom to lead this country.

"And for World Vision, pray that we would be able to reflect God's love for Nepal and particularlary for the most vulnerable children so we could be salt and light for this country."
