Christians released after prayer arrest

News agency Fides claims they were freed from a detention centre after being held by police on 28th September.

The Christians were arrested for praying together at home and it is thought the leader, Pastor Sompong Supatto, is still being held in custody.

Police had raided the house and arrested everyone present, claiming the prayer meeting violated a law introduced by the village chief a week before.

Laos, a country in Southeast Asia, claims to offer freedom of religion.
