Michael Jones, a 75-year-old Christian street preacher, has been fully acquitted following allegations of offensive remarks made in Beverley town centre in December 2023.

Supported by the Christian Legal Centre, Mr Jones consistently denied the claims, highlighting his lifelong support for Israel and Jewish communities.

“I have always believed in the importance of supporting Israel and the Jewish people,” he said. “I am thankful that the truth has prevailed.”

Andrea Williams, chief of the Christian Legal Centre, stressed the wider significance: “These cases are not just about individuals, they are about the future of Christian freedom and free speech in our nation.

"We must remain vigilant, because the gospel must never be silenced.”
