A former Christian NFL star has launched a $50 million (£36 million) project tackling human trafficking.
Tim Tebow has been championing the cause through his Tim Tebow Foundation since 2010.
The new Eagle Freedom Fund II builds on earlier success, which helped free nearly 150 victims, saw 39 traffickers arrested, and trained more than 6,000 medical staff to identify exploitation, according to The Dallas Express.
Tebow, who recently became a father, said the mission has become deeply personal. "I just had a daughter, and I'm hungry to build a safer future for our children," he explained, adding: "We need bold, strategic action in the fight against trafficking. That's what gets me excited... the chance to reach millions of children."
Speaking at a Tim Tebow Foundation event in 2021, he also reflected on how his Christian faith drives his mission, saying: "We're believers in a big God... everyone has worth, everyone has value, everyone is worth fighting for."
Keel Point, one of the fund’s partners, praised the initiative for aligning investment with Christian values.
CIO Lyle Minton said: "The portfolio companies are already producing tangible impact results for investors who want to align investment capital with their values and mission."
