A UK motorist is considering legal action, after his insurer told him he must remove “Jesus Loves You” stickers from his car. 

Simeon Chandra, 35, was informed by GoSkippy Insurance that his policy could not continue unless he took off handmade stickers bearing the message “Jesus Loves You.”

Christian Concern say  the insurer’s underwriting department had “declined the modification done on the vehicle as per stickers added on the vehicle.” Chandra was allegedly instructed to remove the stickers ,and provide a dated photograph as proof before his policy could be reinstated.

Chandra said he had contacted GoSkippy in advance to be transparent about the stickers, explaining that they were not for business purposes but simply “to spread a positive message that Jesus loves you.” He alleges he was initially told that the stickers would be allowed if he sent photos to the insurer, but was later informed that the policy could not continue unless they were removed.

He claims his emails seeking clarification have gone unanswered.

Mr Chandra said he was "shocked" at the request, telling Christian Concern: "I could have cried. I think people with other messages would not have faced the same situation. 

"The message on my car is very simple: ‘Jesus Loves You.’ It is not abusive, political, hateful or commercial. It is a message of hope... We see all kinds of messages, flags and slogans in public life. But when a Christian puts a peaceful message on his own car, suddenly it appears to become a problem."
