Christian hip-hop artist Gawvi has been ousted from Reach Records after accusations surfaced that the musician had sent unsolicited explicit photos to other women whilst still married.
Gawvi recently announced his divorce from wife Brianna Segura.
He was due to begin the We Are Unashamed Tour, along with fellow Christian artists Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, Tedashii and 1K Phew, amongst others.
Reach Records released a statement, explaining why they had servered their professional relationship with the artist.
It said: “Due to behavior that is inconsistent with our core values, we have ended our professional relationship with Gawvi.
“This was a tough decision for us because of the level of complexity and because we invest in our artists not just for their talent, but also as brothers and sisters in Christ.”
They claim to have been processing the decision for over a year.
The statement ends with a message about God’s grace. It reads: “We also want our actions to be a reflection of love, care, and concern for those who fail and those who are affected by our failures.”
“Each of us needs God’s grace and we invite you to pray for the families and individuals whose lives are being impacted. This is not a chance to throw anybody away. We continue to hope for restoration to be the outcome.”
Gawvi announced his divorce over the weekend, but the marriage ended in 2020. The couple were together for six years and share two young children.
Cataphant – a visual artist and designer – took to Twitter to defend Azucena, claiming she was “incorrectly represented”.
She told fans that she was going to create a collage of the “unasked for” explicit images that the artist sent to women while he was still married.
